We’ve got some updates to share about voice functionality and the Mia feature in our extension. These changes are aimed at making sure you get the most stable and reliable experience possible.
First things first: the core features of the extension remain fully supported. Nothing is changing there—you can continue using the extension as you always have.
You may have noticed that the built-in voice options from ChatGPT have become harder to access recently.
This, combined with the increasing complexity of maintaining the feature on our end, has made it difficult to deliver a smooth user experience. Because of this, we’ve decided to temporarily stop supporting the built-in voices inside the extension.
We know this may cause some frustration, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. If ChatGPT brings the playback button back in the future, we’ll definitely re-evaluate and do our best to restore the integration.
In the meantime, you can still rely on the regular playback button that comes with the extension, which utilizes the text-to-speech features in your browser
Alongside this change, we’re also deprecating the Mia feature in the extension. The reasons are much the same: it’s become too difficult to maintain Mia while ensuring a consistent, reliable experience for everyone.
However, Mia can still be accessed as a custom GPT and works very well with the native Voice Mode in ChatGPT.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these adjustments. Our goal is always to provide features that work smoothly and consistently—while keeping the extension’s core functionality strong and reliable.
Thank you for being part of our community—we’re excited to continue improving and finding new ways to support how you use the extension.
